John Huerth, MEd
Established Lead Guide
John (he/him/his) grew up in the Boston area and is known to his friends around the world as “Boston John.” As an undergrad, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. John began his early career as an Account Manager before having a spiritual awakening that would change the course of his life forever–“Children are our greatest asset.” Upon discovering this truth, John opted out of his business career and began working with students abroad. He lived overseas for four years in South Korea and then in Spain where he taught ESL and physical education to students in secondary schools. He continues to guest lecture for a Master of Education program in Spain to share perspective on pedagogy and teaching methodologies.
John’s passion for health and wellness led him to pursue a graduate degree in education with a focus on skills-based health and social emotional learning. He is a licensed health educator and certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) who strives to bring about positivity, connection, and well-being through authentic and experiential learning. He is intentional about investing in the future generations of this world and empowers students to live sustainably, graciously, and authentically within a multicultural environment.
Outside of work, John can be found playing basketball, skiing, or lounging at the beach with his work laptop. He is a free spirit at heart and hopes to continue a lifestyle of travel and adventure. John is a lifelong learner and plans to continue to invest in himself in order to grow as a resource for his students and community.
