Ryan Corbey, BS
Associate Director of Admissions
Ryan grew up near Washington DC, and currently resides in Montana with his wife and son. Ryan’s path to wilderness therapy began with a NOLS semester in Wyoming. Ryan later moved to Bozeman, MT to live in the mountains and pursue his undergraduate degree at Montana State University. Ryan put down roots in Big Sky Country and graduated with a BA in Sociology. While working in a group home for at-risk, adolescent boys, frequently taking them hiking and on other outdoor adventures, he discovered how fulfilling it could be to make therapeutic progress in nature.
Ryan moved to Utah to guide for a wilderness therapy program, and after 200 inspiring days on the trail, Ryan transitioned to the role of Admissions Counselor. Ryan continued his professional development directing Admissions for a Wilderness Therapy program in Colorado before joining the team at True North. Ryan believes in the power of wilderness therapy to invite change and is delighted to be a resource to those considering this option.
When not connecting on the phone with potential students and families, Ryan can be found playing outdoors in Southwestern Montana. He enjoys mountain biking, fly-fishing, and snowboarding, camping, backcountry split boarding, hunting, and soaking in hot springs. Ryan’s new favorite way of experiencing these activities is introducing them to his young son. When indoors, Ryan is likely playing the ukulele, cooking, or planning his next adventure.
