Reilly Lawrence, BA
Reilly was born and raised in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire. From a very young age he was drawn to outdoor activities including skiing, camping, and hiking. Reilly received his Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Education at Johnson State College, in Vermont. Reilly went on to develop his wilderness leadership skills in a variety of outdoor educational and expedition settings.
Reilly worked for several years at Camp Birch Hill in the White Mountains of New Hampshire as a counselor and group leader, until he was promoted to a Camp Director role and took on responsibilities of program development and staff training.
While completing his degree, Reilly worked with at-risk foster youth at Laraway Youth and Family Services. He found the therapeutic approach at Laraway to be extremely rewarding and was thrilled when he discovered wilderness therapy. Wilderness therapy is an excellent synthesis of Reilly’s passion for outdoor activities and his desire to work with adolescents in a therapeutic environment.
Reilly has travelled extensively throughout the Western U.S, exploring wild spaces and enjoying skiing expeditions in the mountains. Reilly began his career in wilderness therapy as a guide at True North. After over a year of guiding with our students he moved into the role of Transition Coordinator. Reilly enjoys supporting our students as they reflect on their experience at True North and prepare for graduation and transition to the next stage of their journey.
He spends his free time skiing, reading, and rock climbing with friends.
