Gayle Ebben, BS
Gayle was born and raised in southeast Michigan. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Grand Valley State University with an emphasis on eco and adventure tourism. Gayle gained valuable experience in Orlando, Florida as an intern with The Walt Disney Company. While working at one of the world’s busiest tourist destinations was an incredible experience, it was an internship at a summer camp that inspired Gayle to pursue a career working with youth in outdoor settings.
Before coming to True North, Gayle spent time as a Director for an all-girls camp in Minnesota, a Coordinator for a Ski and Snowboard Club, and also taught outdoor education to elementary school students in Western Michigan. As a certified Wilderness First Responder, she has also led backcountry trips for high school students including canoeing the Manistee River, backpacking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and bicycle tours across Michigan.
Gayle is dedicated to sharing her love for the outdoors with others, both at work and in her personal life. She believes that quality time spent outdoors can foster an appreciation for our environment, and in turn that appreciation will inspire others to protect our natural landscapes for generations to come. In her free time, Gayle enjoys knitting, working with horses, and biking. One day she hopes to bike across the United States. Gayle is an avid supporter of marching arts, and continues to play sousaphone with her university’s alumni marching band.
