Brooke Hallock, BA
Brooke Riley Hallock moved to Shelburne, Vermont with her family at a young age and has been happy to call Vermont home ever since. Brooke attended Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, welding the concentrations of Anthropology and Adventure Education, with a minor in Asian Studies. Brooke participated in many academic backcountry and travel experiences, including mountain biking the Kokopelli Trail, backpacking in Moab, Utah, and trekking and conducting field research in the Annapurna region of Nepal. As a trip leader for the Green Mountain College Adventure Program and a certified WFR, she also led countless backcountry trips, specializing in snow sports, hiking, and flat-water paddling. Prior to joining the team at True North, Brooke worked at Sugarbush and Killington Resorts as a Ski and Ride Instructor, and alongside the Winooski Parks and Recreation Department as a day trip leader for local youth, in particular the Nepali refugee population. Looking to further her career in Adventure Education and work with longer term backcountry experiences, Brooke became a guide at True North. After nearly a year of guiding, Brooke transitioned to the Operations Department, excited for the opportunity to utilize her background in organization and logistics. Brooke now lives in Fayston, Vermont with her partner and pets, spending her free time practicing photography, working with animals, snowboarding, kayaking, and exploring the natural expanses of Vermont.
